Hakata Letter 7: Starting the Day with 'Oshim Prayer'(fith heart prayer), Ending with 'Sharing Gratitude'
There is a truth hidden between the ordinary and the familiar. One of the truths obscured by the ordinary is 'gratitude.' When we take an interest in and practice gratitude, our lives become richer. The Bible tells us that giving thanks in all circumstances is God's will for us (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
It's not too difficult for anyone to be thankful when things are going well, but it is not easy even when things are not going well. However, God's will is to give thanks in all circumstances. Being thankful for everything is possible when we have faith that God has a plan for us even when things are not going well. In this sense, giving thanks in all circumstances is a voluntary decision God's children must make!
The quality of life of a grateful person is much higher than that of those who are not. Spiritually, mentally, and physically, grateful people are likely to be healthier. No grateful person suffers from depression, and no grateful person commits suicide. By paying a little attention to being grateful, one can live a happy and healthy life.
What sustains a life of gratitude and makes it even richer is 'sharing gratitude.' When we start sharing gratitude, the virus of gratitude spreads. Sharing gratitude challenges and stimulates each other. Another person's gratitude moves and supports us. Therefore, sharing gratitude with others is much more sustainable than being grateful alone. Continuous gratitude changes the pattern of our lives and ultimately improves our quality of life.
However, some things hinder gratitude. These could be situations that unexpectedly make our lives difficult or negative emotions that suddenly come upon us. There could be many reasons for such situations and emotions, but it is clear that evil spirits are also interfering. This is because the evil spirits have come to kill and destroy us (John 10:10), and they do not want us to live in gratitude according to God's will (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
I believe that the key to building a shield against such things, living under the grace of the Lord all day, and being thankful is the 'Oshim Prayer.'
"I am dead.
I am not the master, Jesus is my master.
Jesus died on the cross and rose again.
I meet the resurrected Jesus in my heart and follow Him, testifying to His glory.
I sing of glorious victory with my beloved family."
Start your day by confessing the Oshim Prayer(fith heart prayer) like this. Then, you will be able to repel all the negative situations and emotions that Satan brings during the day. If necessary, confess it frequently. After that, at the end of the day before going to bed, reflect on the day and organize the contents of your gratitude. Share it with your cell group members, family, or others. The bedtime that follows will bring you peace.
Living each day like this will bring peace. Even if difficult situations arise, you will not give yourself over to Satan. If you pay a little more attention in your cell group to living this life 'simply, repetitively, and continuously,' our lives will become more beautiful and astonishingly transformed. I hope all our believers challenge themselves to live a life of gratitude together!
